Memory Care

Marietta’s Place

Good Neighbor Society built Marietta’s Place in 2011 to help people with memory loss live fulfilling and meaningful lives. We understand that caring for people with memory loss can be concerning, demanding, and even scary for their loved ones.

Our care partners are specially trained to assess each situation, meet the individual where they are on their journey, and ensure their days are filled with safety, security, and joy.

Eldon’s Companion

Meet Sarah, a high school student at Starmont with a full schedule and a large heart. She is involved in FFA, Student Council, National Honor Society and many other things.

On December 27, 2014, her grandrather, Eldon Walz, passed away after a battle with Alzheimer’s. In an effort to honor him, she has taken on a project called, “Eldon’s Companions,” to bring joy to residents who would enjoy a doll or dog as a companion.

When Sarah was asked why she wanted to take on such a project, she responded, “Memories of loved ones and friends visiting are often times lost, but this companion will always be with them to bring them comfort. Every minute counts for them and Eldon’s Companion makes them happy.”

Good Neighbor Society is blessed Sarah has chosen to support our campus and provide companions to our residents at Good Neighbor Home and Marietta’s Place.
